PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & CURRICULUM SUPPORT

Teachers (of all subject areas!) are often tasked with delivering sex ed to their students, without adequate training, practice, content-familiarity, or curriculum guidance. The Talk provides in-school trainings that not only support schools in developing relevant, sustainable sexuality education programming, but also help educators to feel comfortable, confident, and prepared to facilitate these essential conversations with students.

WHAT SCHOOL LEADERS ARE SAYING

  • “Rachel is such a clear and approachable educator. I think that's what makes it easy to discuss with/listen to her explain such challenging or 'uncomfortable' topics. There is no judgement from her about where a person is coming from, the questions they have, their wonderings. I also love LOVE that Rachel wraps the social emotional aspects of sexuality within her conversations. It helps with all of the overlapping stuff that happens with kids: awareness, puberty, friendships, social media, gender 'roles', self esteem. It's so many things!”

WHAT KIDS ARE SAYING

  • " You can tell Rachel anything, and she will be totally cool, not react, and help you feel comfortable."

The Talk: Sex Ed 2.0 SINGLE WORKSHOP

While many of us want to initiate conversations with our children about sexuality, we aren't sure what to say, how to say it, or when to begin.

The messages we send to our children about sex, bodies, gender, relationships, consent - and more! - are deeply informed by the way we learned to view these things, ourselves.

This is already challenging, since so few of us had positive sex ed experiences (if we had any, at all). Making it harder still, today’s youth are confronting realities we did not have to face, like social media, sexting, and the ubiquity of online porn.

The Talk: Sex Ed 2.0 provides attendees with guidance on all of the above, plus actionable tools, strong evidence to support their efficacy, and a space to share concerns and get answers.

*Distinct workshops available for parents of elementary, middle, and high school-age youth.

WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING

  • "The Talk has been such a special experience for my 10 year old daughter. I had hoped she would come home armed with information, which she did. More importantly, and something I did not anticipate: she came home proud and empowered. Rachel catches that moment before kids are self conscious and inhibited and it’s really amazing. I highly recommend this class!"
